Now, to rank in search engine, one of the first thing that you need to do is to determine your keywords. Having a primary keyword that your potential clients will search for is very important. Think about how your potential clients are going to find your website. You need to think like a consumer, ask your friends what words will they be using when they search for your products on the search engines.

With the keyword determined, be sure that you have these keywords in your homepage. It is important to note that you do not spam your keywords on your homepage. Sprinkle your keywords in your writing, make it sound natural. You should have the keywords in the TITLE tag of your webpage too.

With your website primed for your targeted keywords, you will need to get backlinks. Backlinks will help you rank your website to page one of search engines. So how do you get backlinks?

Before I proceed with this, I want to advise that when you are look for backlinks, do not apply any blackhat methods. Blackhat methods uses spam and manipulation to trick their way to page one. While it can work, the results will not stay for long as search engines will catch up to these tricks and remove the ranking of your website.

There are many legitimate ways of getting backlinks but after some years of testing, I found that the best way to get backlinks is to use quality content. Submit your well written articles to various blogs and new syndication websites. If they are good, these websites will publish your content and in return, they will give you backlink to your website.

This method is by far the best method and even Planet Ocean, the SEO authoritative site, recommends this method of backlinking.
